The Burson-Marsteller 2009 Green Power Progress Survey has been released and it makes very interesting reading. Here are some key findings:

Americans say a major overhaul of energy infrastructure is necessary;
Alternative energy sources are seen as essential to the future of electricity in the U.S.;
Addressing environmental issues and energy needs is a shared responsibility;
Cost and confusion are the key challenges to widespread adoption of green energy;
There is a gap between Americans' willingness to pay for green energy and what they think it would cost.

And in another report, global carbon dioxide emissions in 2008 rose 1.94 per cent year-on-year to 31.5 billion metric tons, German renewable energy industry institute IWR said, based on official information and its own research.
