June is Bike Month in Toronto!  Greenscroll salutes this celebration of environmentally-friendly transportation.  Before you log on to Greenscroll and your other favorite websites in the morning, why not get in a nice little workout on your way to the office?  After all, green energy can come from your legs.

Going Green:  Is There an App for That?

The recent release of Apple’s iPad in Canada got me thinking: are there environmentally friendly apps for the iPhone?  When I think of technology helping the environment, I tend to think of new technologies helping to reduce emissions from heavy industry, or similar innovations.  The popularity of the iPhone and the new (okay, new to Canada) iPad made me wonder…the environment – is there an app for that?
I did a little research to see what iPhone apps might help make a person just a little more environmentally friendly.  Every bit helps!

The 2010 Green Toronto awards recipients have been announced and honoured, this past Friday in Toronto.  Did any Greenscroll blog readers have a chance to attend?  By all means, send me an email (heather@greenscroll.org) and let me know how it was.  This post is just a quick update, in case you read my earlier post about the nominees and were curious about who took home the hardware.

It was an exciting day for Greenscroll today as our counter ticked over the 100,000 greened page views milestone. A big thanks to all our supporters for their pledges! We are tweaking the site to show the the REC serial numbers your donations have bought, so stay tuned.

Teaming Up With WiseStamp 0

Here at Greenscroll we try to work with like-minded companies on various initiatives, and WiseStamp is one of those. Josh at WiseStamp says they "love and support green causes" so we're happy to that they've helped us in that respect. (On a personal note, I use their solution for greening my own e-mails, and it works great!)
