From Carbonfund.org:
"Greenscroll contacted Carbonfund.org Foundation last September, with an interest in offsetting the emissions related to the TEDx event.
"Together, we estimated the total number of attendees, their means of travel to and from the event (commercial airline flights, rail, transit, private automobiles, bicycle and on foot, and estimated round-trip distances for all modes), and the venue’s energy usage, including the meal provided to attendees.
"The resulting event-related emissions totaled 13.2 metric tonnes, and Greenscroll made a donation of 0 to purchase 15 metric tonnes of carbon credits, thus over-estimating the event’s emissions, and supporting Carbonfund.org’s portfolio of energy efficiency, renewable energy and reforestation projects."
