Nikolai Bratkovski
Co-Founder & Chief Scroller

Nikolai is a serial entrepreneur who advanced from holding numerous development and project management positions at several small software companies to founding his own software development company Impulse Systems Inc. Soon after, he co-founded SIMMS/Diamedx Inc. (mysimms.com), where he currently serves as part-time CTO. In this position, he orchestrates the design and development of highly complex Web-based enterprise software for medical imaging centres. Recently, using his expertise in healthcare and informatics industries, he founded HealthKiwi.ca - an online healthcare directory  that helps Canadians find doctors  who really care and clinics that are closer. Nikolai received his Bachelor of Administrative Studies from York University in Toronto. He is an active participant in Toronto's rich technology community and sits on advisory boards of several emerging companies. He is a spirited evangelist of entrepreneurship and is currently mentoring his friends on their startups. Nikolai believes that giving back is vital in making our world a better place. To put his beliefs into action, he is helping the Heart Institute of Caribbean (caribbeanheart.com)  to be able to deliver world class healthcare in the Third World environment and, of course, he is trying to get Greenscroll off the ground.

Sasha Baksht
Co-Founder & Tech Scroller

Sasha was born in Ust-Kamenogorsk, or Oskemen – a city named by the Blacksmith Institute as one of the "Dirty 30" - one of the world's 30 most-polluted cities. For decades, giant industrial facilities producing zinc, lead, titanium, magnesium, and other nonferrous metals have been operating there. First-hand accounts say that the current environmental situation is even worse now than it used to be in Soviet times, since less attention is paid to the control of the factories' commitment to clean up their waste. As a tech developer, Sasha believes that business and individuals should care more about the Earth we leave to our kids, hence his role as co-founder of Greenscroll. Sasha has been managing Web development projects since 1998, having graduated from Tomsk University of Control Systems with a Master Degree in Electronics in 1994. Since 2006 Sasha has lived in Canada and founded New Techbridge Inc., a successful offshore software development company. Sasha loves his son and daughter, and can be found on a soccer field near you kicking a ball around.

John Carson
Co-Founder & Communications Scroller

John started his journalism career in England in 1995 as a reporter on Streetwise Business Magazine, covering small business and franchising. He went on to edit Product & Image Security, a publication dealing with counterfeit products, security inks and identity theft. In 2000 he moved to Canada, and worked at Rogers Media Publishing as a senior online content manager for a stable of around 22 trade publications. His role was to create content and e-newsletters to drive traffic to the websites. At Rogers, he also founded an internal e-newsletter delivered to around 1,000 staff. He went on to edit Silicon Valley NORTH, a national technology publication, and was also responsible for relaunching the website and creating an e-newsletter. That was followed by a stint as managing editor of Beer.com, a men’s lifestyle website. He created content, e-newsletters, a blog and podcast. The next role was as acting communications manager at Upper Canada College, one of North America’s most prestigious private boys’ schools. He created website content, including news articles and an e-newsletter, and also edited Old Times, the alumni publication. His team won two awards for its digital and social media outreach. Passionate about social media, John is looking forward to engaging with the green community online and in person at networking events around the GTA.

Heather Adams

Strategic Alliances Scroller

Heather recently moved to Toronto from Calgary, Alberta.  Before the big move, Heather worked in the environmental consulting industry in oil and gas reclamation and remediation, travelling to exotic destinations such as Fox Creek, Oyen, and even Drayton Valley.  In her student days, Heather studied Environmental Science at the University of Calgary and hiked a lot of mountains on weekends.  This sparked a passion for environmental sustainability, an interest in making a positive difference in the world, and the need for good day job.  In her spare time, Heather plays competitive ultimate frisbee, enjoys outdoor adventures and likes to blog about both.  She is excited to help green the web with Greenscroll.
